HERE BE SPOILERS !
Here notes from the episodes - please don't read ahead if you don't want the any spoilers !
Episode 1 (excluding the live recording): Characters are requested by Regent Balaenoptera to do recon on a group of giants which have been organizing and threatening trade in Aronnax. Characters follow a map and find an ogre and four goblins. One of the goblins, Clog, was rescued and is adopted by the party. Maragold swan dives into a pool of pee.
Episode 2: Characters defeat two miniaturized hill giants who expand to regular size upon completion. Within a trapped chest they find a note from a mysterious group, the Convocation, which suggests that the organization has the ability to strike where and whenever they choose, and that the giants were assaulted as a message for others. Cally adopts a cat-sized black bear, Blooddrinker.
Episode 3: Characters leave the caverns only to find their services being required to help facilitate a ransom exchange. A member of the Merchant's guild, Reynolds, is paying a large sum of money to get his son, Baldwin, released from kidnappers. Characters travel to a small depressing town, Nedland, where they magic their way out of one bandit encounter, and are rewarded with a flight of our official beer Moose Haunch.
Episode 4: Characters start in the Lewd Beggar, the tavern in Nedland, and are met by a highly professional malfeasant, Kerak, who atop a beautiful house, leads them to an abandoned castle. There, the characters find that the lead kidnapper, Thoros, and their associate Ademar. The exchange is fouled however by the double crossing of Reynolds. The chest of ransom was full of worthless coins. Battle ensues, Thoros and company are defeated with one unknown sniper escaping on Kerak's beautiful horse. Characters are left in the castle, with their mules, Clog, the boy Baldwin and decisions left to be made.
Episode 5: Characters return to Aronnax where they confronted Reynolds who seemed....erratic at best. He mentioned throwing a horse trainer into the sewer to be consumed by the Sewer monster, and implicated Sverdrup in the kidnapping, saying he found evidence that he switched the chests after the party had already left. They returned Baldwin to his "care" and were rewarded with a new assignment. Reynolds had lost a bet to Marie de Loach who is now in possession of the Queen's Desire a ship docked in town. The assignment was to ensure that the possessions were not part of the deal and to catalogue Reynold's possessions on the ship, and an added bonus to retrieve his pet. Upon meeting de Loach in the Wild Rose she also hired the adventurers to find out what was going on with the ship, as several repair crews had fled in terror. The crew was then essentially being paid twice for the same job. The crew is very talented at negotiations. Before boarding the ship Marmo noticed black tendrils in an abnormally high tide. Upon exploring the ship's middle deck the crew tripped a trap, found a ostentatious painting of Reynolds (who frames their own selfies?).
Episode 6: In the lower deck the crew found, a skeleton with a small black stone earring the pet which looked like a small seal and rescued it. They also found that the ship was being eaten away by giant tube worms, which Leo collected samples of. When they returned to the middle deck they were assaulted by an unknown creature. When seeing this creature the "seal" turned out to a scary polymorphing monster who tried to escape by becoming liquid. Lucien made a great save and caught the liquid seal in his hat before it could escape. Thanks to a carefully applied command spell the unknown creature is now doing low-grade carpentry to repair the ship. The party was split with Marmo and Lucien going back to see Reynolds while the rest of the crew explores the reaming deck of the Queen's Desire. Also featured was Balenopetra's quick tour of Aronnax where she expressed her desire for law and order. She reviled that there are six houses in the merchant's guild and that while they are devilish to each other, their infighting promotes a fragile peace outside of the guild hall. The party deposited their gear and some money at the Fog and Wraith, Clog left to go about his own business.
Episode 7: The party confronts the ghost of Neshud Amiric a spice trader from the south who was forced to sell the Queen's Desire to Reynolds after Reynolds financially ruined Amiric. Upon learning of the embarrassing way in which Reynolds lost the ship Amiric's spirit can rest and the party gains three (!) magic items, a Dagger +2 (Marmo), a Cloak of the Manta Ray (Cali) and a Spoon of Stirring (Lobster Bisque variant edition). They then brought the liquid seal to Reynolds. Upon arriving in Reynold's office, the liquid seal transformed into it's seal form and made cute noises. Reynolds was elated and the crew was able to get paid 503 gold. Lucien perhaps saw cracks in Reynold's main assistant Alistar who showed a special affinity for young Baldwin.
Episode 8: The party travel to the Krak Inn, where they meet barkeep Boass the cook Joseph and the bouncer Rob. The learn from Boass about the virtues of native drinks, and Cali drinks a Hot Puffer Rum which is rimmed with Fugu and promptly falls asleep fro two hours. The Krak Inn is the local union dive bar across from the Plumber's guild. Within it they find Clog who is adjusting to working as a plumber. Boass tells that one of the reasons why he uses native fruits is that the over-seas trade has become dangerous because of all the pirating. The Krak Inn is also notable because of having two Keg Golems which dispense beer...and justice. After Cali recovers they go to see Sverdrup and his advisor Roberts to see about the blackmailing. Sverdrup is not phased, saying that Reynolds is basically Trump, coming up with crisis to distract from other crisis. He does feel sorry for the PCs though as he is worried they might be lured by his big personality and his propensity to throw money at people thinking it will gain respect. Sverdrup offers a job - he is in the fishing business and his contact up north in Capelin has been quiet for six weeks. The party is to travel north and find Stommel and report back. The party spends the night in the Fog and Wraith.
Episode 9: The party awakes at the Fog and Wraith and have a breakfast smoothie created by the proprietor Mott. Because of a low pressure system moving in there was heavy rain keeping them away from the docks. The skies are full of extra-large gulls which have been growing large off the city's garbage. They decide to leave to go to the Omnipharmicon to obtain magical items. Along the way Cali notices two people lurking outside the inn. As the party leaves the pair follow them hanging back. The party gets ambushed with crossbow wielding assassins on the tops of buildings. Leo uses Beast Sense to gain a sea gull's eye view to gain an idea of where the assassins are. Two are defeated relatively easy but as the tide starts to turn the party hears an offer from help below. The group descends into the sewers.
Episode 10: The party was rescued by a small ratfolk named Mirley who's son Abner has run in with a bad crowd. Ratfolk run a series of businesses below the ground and along the docks including Mirley's tavern, The Gnawing Thirst. She says that while she cannot pay the party she may be able to provide information about dock activities in the future. A ratfolk gang, the Black Tentacles have befriended Abner and stole Mirley's life savings. She takes them down the swears to a confluence of lines, Grand Central where she gives them directions to the Black Tentacles' hideout. Passing the Silver Sword Along the way the swears intersect with ancient catacombs. Along the way the party discover a recently constructed tomb to the Demon Lord of Rats, Chittr’k’k. Inside the tomb they found skulls of cats, dogs, and gulls all with their mouthes sewed shut. Cali suffered a short period of madness from the exposure to the horrifying visions, Marmo and Marigold burnt the skulls, whereupon they discovered that each skull had a small copper coin inscribed with the symbol of Chittr’k’k a rat skull with a trident behind it. Marmo collected 50 of these totally innocent (?) coins and placed them in a separate bag. Later, the crew was able to find the hideout. Invisible Marigold and Cali snuck in to find Legs and Jimmy (ratfolk thieves) lounging while The Accountant was keeping the books. Cali's failed suggestion spell drew out Legs, Jimmy and The Accountant, allowing Marigold to steal the ledger. Through the use of several illusion spells, a combination of Lucien, Marmo and Marigold pretended to be a messenger from Chittr'k'k and convinced The Accountant to: 1) give up the cash box ; and that 2) Abner was too dangerous to mess with. The Accountant also let slip that the Black Tentacles had previously not been messing with the Chittr'k'k cult, but this intervention may change that delicate balance.
Episode 11: When the players make it to the docks they see that they are hopping. Whereas previously they were empty save for the Queen’s Desire now there are about 10-12 ships in. Those ships appear to be in need of repair. In the Wild Rose the players find Marie DeLoach busying herself for her trip to Capelin. Wilkins has secured passage and she says that she’ll be happy to bring them north for a heavily discounted fee of 15gp each. The trip is against the prevailing currents and should take about 3 days. In the tavern there are many dock workers. One of them, a middle-aged man with sandy blond hair and a bit of a paunch is up on a table is reciting how his ship and others under the leadership of Arkos Seatamer, a Paladin of Torm has been working in conjunction with Balenoptera to address the pirate threat and to clear sea lanes. They returned a few days ago with almost all the ships in town having come from the north and west where the pirates were most commonly encountered.
The players leave Aronnax and head up to Capelin, along the way they see evidence of blast fishing. On the second day they are attacked. Two Deep Ones were seen several hundred feet away from the boat and were somehow bringing a deadly storm of sleet and ice. At the same time two others were leading a leviathan to attack the boat. As the attack ends Marmo is sent a spell with the message "Whoever we want, whenever we want however we want”. The ship is badly damaged and with the success of several navigation checks the crew is able to make into the nearest town of Bazyte.
Episode 12: In Bazyte De Loach gets quickly to getting the ship to repair. It’s hoisted up and the players see a massive hole in the side from where the leviathan rammed the side of the ship. As the players are mulling this up you see several townsfolk are gathered, including two, Claude-Louis Navier and George Stokes, two scientists working for the Aronnax Museum of Natural History, or AMNH for short. They report that their ship the Robin's Reach was sunk by pirates, who in turn succumbed to the reefs and sank with their equipment and notes onboard. They couldn't really tell exactly where it sank but the players find that the Lighthouse Keeper, Old Ben. He keeper is a crotchety sort of person, No one really sees him much, they just make a delivery to his house every month. The players decide to investigate Ben's house that evening. The house is high on the bluffs and, after doing a B&E they find that the house is empty, save for some magic items and a map of the cove including shipwrecks, a dragon and a large cephalopod, which they abscond with. The legality of this, of course, being highly dubious. Of note, the players also find a hidden tunnel in the basement leading down to a secret sea cave. On the floor of that cave they find humanoid footsteps leading into the sea.
Episode 13: The players spend the night back in Bazyte and find that the local fish population is lower because the pirates are hiring people to do blast fishing. The players hire a local lad to row them out. They players stop first at the site on the map where the dragon is. They find a softball sized pearl growing in an oyster and as they attempt to take it. One near TPK later they realize that the pearl was being guarded by a Coral Drake. Returning to the surface they decide instead to use stealth and are able to obtain the pearl. They next moved to the recent ship wreck and find it guarded by seven hammer heads and one great white. Using a combination of chum and a suggestion spell they were able to drive off the guardians and explore below decks. There they found pirates quarters including a 1st mate's and captains rooms as well as a dark room with goth/spooky decorations. On the deck below they explored the common seamen's quarters. There they found a variety of pirate themed knick-knacks, as well as the anchor room and the mess hall. In the anchor room they found a passage leading down, but and to return the Leo-ROV (thanks the a potion of etherealness) before it ran out. They left Leo in the scary room, who's door was too tough to knock down, so Karl just knocked a whole in the wall.
Episode 14: Looting etc.
Episode 15: More looting,
Episode 17: Fighting with Deep Ones.
Episode 18: The players found that the loot they had thought they were going to get was robbed by the Convocation with the telltale note "Whenever we want, whoever we want, however we want" Marmo goes to town to the library to try and find some answers, there he meets Merelin the handling librarian. They hit it off and go out on a date (?) at the local tavern run by Kaelyn She tells him that the coins are connected to Chittr'k'k the rat demon god, a problem for sure, but probably independent from the Convocation. Fearing an increasing threat Marie DeLoach hires a local half elf wizard Alden to join the crew.
Episode 19: Lucien attempts a cunning plan to get the remainder of the loot. It does not go to plan.
Episode 20: Marmo finds that he has a bronze ring with an opal in it that Merelin can use to send messages to Marmo. The party then sails up to Capelin where they meet Elizabeth Stommel, Hank's wife. She says that he's been taken by a group of pirates that have been revenging the coast, and that instead of taking just booty, they're taking prisoners. Based off of her map where she's been tracking capture incidents, she has an idea of what island the pirates are probably based out of. The players rented a fishing boat from an older man named Otis, leaving a diamond necklace as deposit. Equipping Otis' boat, weekend at Bernie's style, the crew is quickly overtaken by the pirate captain, Jarzon, who approaches the ship saying they are bless to be chosen to meet Shar-Ngolyeth!
Episode 21: The party is captured!!!! Well everyone except for Carl, Lucien and Marmo that is. Cast aside in the hurt to capture people not booty the three are left in the flotsam. After waiting for the pirate ship to clear, Lucien summons a boat and they follow the pirate ship to an archipelago. Passing the breakers they find three islands smaller ones to the east and the rest and a larger one in the center. Exploring the smaller one to the west they find Giant tortoises. Upon closer inspection these have been branded on the front right leg with a kraken (dice) logo. When they climb the top of the hill they notice the pirate ship in a bay on the west and a small cove to the south.
Episode 22: The party walks over to the cove and explores a well trodden path that appears to head to the pirates' hang out. The path crossed a stream and it was at that point that the party was surprised by a lone Kamadan. After eventually defeating the monstrosity, they Marmo gets two uses of poison (6d6 DC12 con save for half damage) but leave the carcass on a tree after an unsuccessful attempt at skinning. While taking a short rest the party is interrupted by shouts as two scouts find the marks of the scuffle the party neglected to clean up. Marmo singlehandedly defeats both scouts, killing one and taking another prisoner. While binding the captive to a tree, he notices that the scout also has a brand on the palm of his left hand.
Episode 23 & 24: The characters explored the pirate and cultist hideout. After splitting the party the episode Marmo and Karl end up freeing Marigold and Cali from their bugbear captors, and in the process find Stommel. Unfortunately, the battle was so loud that it attracted the attention of several sleeping pirates. Karl ended up blockading the door leaving Lucien outside with the newly awakened miscreants. Cali heard chanting and moved down a corridor which opened into a large chamber. There she saw Jarzon, with a knife held above a unconscious Leo. She went all holy angel of death flaring out her wings ... and we were left seeing what would happen.
Episode 25 & 26: BIG SQUID FIGHT !
Episode 27: The crew escape, although Marmo is stricken unconscious from a psychic attack from the Big Squid. As they leave on Stommel's boat the crew decompress and think about what it's like to have been kidnapped and/or die. Cali talks about wrestling with her inner demon (angle?) and how to reconcile being chill while harboring such hate. Marigold notes that the bioluminescence starts to tell a story, a story which is tracked by Lucien as the glowing images fade from the bow. In this story we see boats crashing and wrecking, an archipelago forming a ring around a center jagged island and a manta ray. When asked about the archipelago Stommel responded that it sounds similar to something known as the Mouth of the Kraken. This mythical archipelago is supposed to hold an oracle which can answer marine related questions.
Episode 28: The adventurers make it back to Capelin (or "roll into Capelin" as Carl insists on saying). The Stommels reunite and agree to take the crew back to Arronax. Once returned they are met with the black earringed crew workers who take care of the ship and they make it back to the Fog and Wraith. Upon reaching the inn, the realize they have several messages from Balenoptera who is interested in their services, as well as needing to check in with Sverdrup. They also went to the Krack Inn where they met Klog, who says he's been busy helping street kids. He says that he has a job that he might need their help with in a few days. As they were leaving the Inn, they 100% didn't see anything sketchy on the way back to the Fog and Wraith.
Episode 29: The party meets with Regent Balenoptera who, despite having other quests that she would rather send the party on, needs them to leave quickly to find out what has happened to Arctos Seatamer (a pirate hunter and man of Torm). Seatamer had been charged with hunting pirates but over the past few weeks had grown increasingly vicious in his application of justice and several of the crew were worried about this turn. Then, just as things were looking bad, he disappeared. He was last known on Bluestone Island, and Balenoptera has asked the party to investigate, undercover, as she doesn't want the pirates to get wind of Seatamers disappearance. To help with this she has hired a vessel, the Vakauaua, or Vaka for short, and given a cover story of the team being ornithologists going to do bird surveys. For this the party will get 200gp each, which has been deposited with Mott at the Fog and Wraith. They also purchase 6 healing potions and Marmo put in a request for a wand of detect magic at the Omnipharmicon. Along the way there they are followed by Claret robed individuals. After leaving the regent's office the party arranged to meet with Sverdrup who had been debriefed by the Stommels. Herr Sverdrop was visibly moved by the story of the illegal pirate fishing operations and told about how this threatened their ability to do accurate stock assessments and therefore threatened his ability to make a predicable amount of money. He then asked if the party could travel for 10 days or so and assess what was being targeted, who was doing the fishing and how much they were taking. He offers 1000gp deposit with Mott and an additional 500 gp upon completion of the report, which he would like within two weeks.
Episode 30: The party moves down to the wharf, where Cali chatted up a black earring wearing dock hand, who pointed out the Vaka is captioned by a man named Segel(not seagull) who runs a very tight ship and always turns a profit, although lately he's been taking more humans than cargo. In the Tenured Rascal some of the crew learned rumors about Segel and the ship ranging from one old sailor saying it was cursed, to another saying that Segel talks in his sleep. They also learned of a sailor named Jeris Halfelvin who used to be a good sailor but had to be let go because he was sick, and Segel thought he was lazy. The other half of the crew investigated the ship. Lucien noticed a very well made figurehead, gilded, of a young man with delicate features. On the ship they notice that the sailors all seem more worn out than would than you would expect for a ship headed out of port. Once aboard Lucien and Marmo again see the prophetic (?) bioluminescence of a two ships crashing, a ring of islands shaped like a mouth and a manta ray. While down below in the horse stalls that have been set up for the party something happens and Carl awakens with blurred vision and a headache (so much the normal for the hard drinking cleric) but also with his maximum HP reduced by 5.
Episode 31: Carl awakes in pain and grumbly, spends most of the day down in the hold, his joints are now ashen and grey. During the day Marmo makes friends with a sailor Darth, and teaches him the fundamentals of cartography, and in return learns a bit more about the crew. The crew all appear to be weakened and some do seem to also have grey veins around their joints. Meanwhile Lucien describes about 4 new species of birds naming them all after himself. Cali inspects the figurehead and, thanks to a good history check, finds that it shows the ship was made in Finders' shipyard. Cali remembers that Finders (but with a long I) had dealings with members from her former life, he wasn't directly involved with the troubles but would often consort with them. Marigold casted detect magic on the figurehead and it radiated of necromantic energy.
Episode 32: Lucinen, Cali and Marigold distracted Captain Segel while Marmo snuck into his cabin. Focusing on the early part of the ships log Marmo finds that Segel bought the Vakau at a really low price 15 years ago after the previous captain died of a sudden hart attack, the writing in the ship's log early on showed a strong confident hand while later script was faint and weakened. That night Cali is visited by a ghostly mist and finds her max HP reduced by 5. The squad put two and two together and that night await the spirit. In the ensuing battle Marigold's max constitution was reduced by 4 and Lucien was aged 7 years, however (as is true to form) Cali cast suggestion and asked the spirit to show what was troubling it. It lead them to the figurehead. There, Lucien went pew pew and they found that within the figurehead was a hollow cavity where the heart would be and inside it was a single gold piece which had stamped upon it the phrase "Vinder, I'll see you in hell - F"
Episode 33: The crew makes it to the city of Nekton Cove on the island of Bluestone, where they reconnoiter at the Leptocephalous. Captain Seagull says he will pick them up in four days. There they talked to the proprietor Adrock who told them that Arctos Seatamer has only just returned from an ill-fated voyage where he lost his ship, The Foaming Wave" due to a freak storm. That storm seemed to have coincided with him sinking the pirate ship "The Striking Shadow" which was captained by Kirella Shadowdale. Talking to others in the pub, including Lars Amberjack, a shipping insurance agent, they find that the pirates have been highly efficient in choosing only the most choice of targets. Lastly, they meet Falco, a boatswain, and find that he's signed on with Arctos for his new voyage along the Oceans Call. Meeting Arctos at the temple of Torm he asks them to sign on with his crew as salvage experts to acquire two items. First is a golden arm-band shaped like an eel, while the second is the body of his friend Derek Harpwind. He hands the crew four potions of underwater breathing and tells them that the ship leaves in the morning. Before they go the squad checks out the crew of the Oceans Call and find them all extremely enthusiastic and fan-boying over getting to work with the famed pirate hunter Seatamer. They meet the 1st mate Melthos who appears to want to be a mini-Seatamer.
Episode 34: The crew starts on the Ocean's Call early. As they board they hear Melthos talk to Seatamer about someone "probably getting cold feat". As Marigold gets a cuppa she notices the ship's cook Chenit scrubbing a dark red stain off the deck, he assumes it's fish blood, but Marigold notices a small piece of green cloth in the stain. Later that day the squad meet three other crew members, a talkative deck hand named Mostek who enjoys being the center of attention, Estrella who is seasoned and cynical, and Thurman, who is fresh off the farm. They hear about the attack on the Striking Shadow from Mostek, and possible connections between Kirella and a krakenand from Estrella they learn about Kirella's abilities to control weather, to jump and to seek out gold, although she refutes the kraken-pact theory from Motek. Late on the 1st evening, the ship is hit by something and Thurman falls overboard, the 'squad tries to save them but he is killed and bitten in two, Carl notices a 12' long snake like shadow disappearing and thanks to a nat 20 nature check can see that the bite looks like it's from an eel. The next day Arctos confesses that the reason he wants the golden arm-band is that he thinks a giant eel like monster has been following him and he hopes getting the armband will allow him to stop the attacks, including the cook's assistant.
Episode 35: Another night on the sea and another murder, this time Estrella falls prey to the depredations of the eel monster. The crew also finds a stow-away who was hiding below decks.
Episode 36: The crew goes under water yet again! Finally reaching their destination. Seatamer gives them potions of underwater breathing and they dive below. First they find Kirella's ship which had some booty (casks of wine) but little else. They then moved over to Seatamer's old ship where they found the body of Derek Harpwind. When they approached it a phantom appeared and gave the following clue:
If golden eel shall be my doom, then eel indeed you shall become.
Until some fair amends you make, each night eel's form you'l take.
Or prowl as a poster up above and prey once more on those you love.
But lay me by my mother's grave and then perhaps you soul you'll save.
They also found the golden eel armband and upon doing so were attacked by the undead form of Kirella
Episode 37: The crew is able to defeat Kirella without too much of a problem, although the underwater stinking cloud gave us a brief discussion on currents. Carl gazed at the golden eel armband and heard its siren's call. Saved from enthrallment by Cali and a heat metal spell, the armband was placed in the purse of holding which Marigoldkept possession of. The crew made a group decision that they were going to return Derek's body but NOT tell Seatamer that they had the armband. Upon reaching topside Seatamer was unwilling to accept that later news (although he did feel genuinely moved by the former). Cali was able to, surprise surprise, cast suggestion to get Seatmaerto relax and accept that they would return for the armband after properly burying Derek Harpwind's body
Episode 38: The crew kept Seatamer suggested and tried to sow seeds of discontent among the crew during mess, either playing up a bit of even hero's. They had a good chat with Melthos the fanboy first mate, and tried to let him know that even strong people need help and an objective friend to bounce ideas off of, which seemed to mollify him. That night, after another helping of suggestion Marmo and Lucien were continuing their Grammar podcast while the rest slept downstairs. Marigold was attacked by a were-eel which stole her backpack, including the purse of holding. Cali, LIKE A BOSS, cast fireball at the fleeing monster. On a ship. A. Wooden. Ship.
Episode 39: Cali sets fire to the ship, but luckily Carl puts it out. This is fine... !
Episode 40: Conclusion of the Seatamer arc. Malthos accepts the mantle of Seatamer and vows to continue his quest to hunt pirates, hopefully without the curse part. A rare moment of us not being assholes at Derek Harpwind's funeral. Carl and Cali make the DM cry with their songs
Episode 41 (AwesomeCon spetacular): The crew has returned from Bluestone. Marmo, Lucien, Carl are invited to attend a gala at the Arronax Museum of Natural History to celebrate the work done by Navier and Stokes. In reality Balenoptera is concerned by the increasingly eratic behavior of Reynolds and she wants to find evidence of his instability with which they might remove him from the ruling of the family, placing his son as steward. Reynolds, being a big donor to the AMNH had access and has a vault within the collections where the goods are hidden. Realizing that they are well and truly out of their league Marmo, Lucien and Carl call in some favors and build a squad. Shenanigans happen with the crew but the important thing is that using locate object spell Carl is able to find Reynolds' notebook, they also steal a black gem. Upon leaving the master thief Jimmy was accosted by a fellow thief, catching him in the act, Jimmy was able to keep the notebook but tossed the black gem to the other thief because game respects game or something like that. Of note is that several of the crew recognize an extremely fine grey horse outside the AMNH during the ceremonies.
Episode 42: CLOG IS A LYING CHEATING BASTARD !
Episode 43: Oh wait, no he's not. The crew escape but Cali's antagonist Fritz Roper, temporarily disabling his crew but not knocking him out. The find a note saying"Roper Pursuant to our agreement you are to deliver 10-15% of the cargo depending on currency or hard goods, however the take has been severely lessoned over the past few weeks. Need I remind you that our business partners are NOT patient people and with the problems that Seatamer has been giving them, they are relying upon us to help optimize their enterprise. The equipment I’m funding is to be used for action, NOT for your little rallies. Get yourself and your men under control or I will have to talk to Balenoptera, I’m sure she’ll be very happy if it appears I solve this problem myself so she doesn’t have to use her precious little band of miscreants. D. R."
Episode 44: The crew puts the evidence together. Based on the black earrings that they found in Roper's hideout and the black gem found in his desk they realize that they form a means of communication. They also found a black gem in Reynold's secret AMNH vault. After visiting the shipbuilder Finder and bribing him they realize that Reynolds, Finder and Roper were entering into a contract where the deckhands were scouting out ships that had valuable cargo and tipping off the pirates so that they could optimize their foraging.
Episode 45: The crew takes this to Balenoptera who promises to look into it, saying perhaps this was the evidence they need to get rid of the scion of the Reynolds family. She also assigned them a task to voyage to an island off the shore of Arronax to investigate an abby that has grown quiet. She fears more pirate depredations...
Episode 46: The cephalosquad sail to the Isle of the Abbey and meet Clogg and the wood elf monk Sai. They also remeet Darharma Sulzbach, a kelp forest druid who had helped some of the squad out during the AMNH heist. They discover a a floating body, and a giant bottle that contains a storm giant's poem.
Episode 47: The crew row to the island, bringing along new companion Darharma (leaving Leo on the ship and Carl hungover), and are attacked by a deadly Peryton.
Episode 48: WTF Josh !
Episode 49 & 50: The group discovers that the Abbey of the Templars of the Tempest is bloody and has been attacked by zombie pirates. They discover three characters Aloysius and Beauagard as well as the brand new PC Pepper (with her pet otter Salt).
They find a gull Greyfeather who noted that the pirates were moored by the maelstrom. We talk about island dwarfism and landscapes of fear.
Episode 51: The crew left for Aaronax, Marmo got a request from Marlene to check that he's ok, Carl leaves with Cali's body, Leo gets a mysterious note.
Episode 52: Mott is introduced by Balenoptera as the leader of the Aaronax intelligence agency. He tells that they have a spy planted in the pirates strong hold code named Manta Ray. This mysterious agent has been sending missives to Mott via disappearing dolphin, and the last one said that they had been made out and that they fear for their life and want to be extracted. However, Mott does not know where the pirate stronghold is, so he needs the Cephalosquad to determine where the stronghold is, report that info back to Mott and then they will plan a rescue.
Episode 53: Marmo goes on a date and the rest of the cephalosquad go to the Tenured rascal to find clues.
Episode 54: Aloysius and Beauguard are obtaining transport to the Windward Citadel so the 'squad has a day or two to themselves. They go to the Omnipharmicon where The Proprietor is able to sell them some magic items. On the way out the 'squad notices someone spilling a cart of watermelons in the central marketplace. They decide to avoid the incident and work their way down to the docks, in part looking to see if they can buy a boat (?!). Several new boats are in town but before they are able to investigate any further there is a dampening of the senses and out of darkness come four Deep Ones. Combat ensues.
Episode 55: Three of the Deep Ones form a phalanx and engage the 'squad, while the other, which was a spell caster, took off. Pepper gave valiant chase, but the enemy went into Finder's shipyard. Despite their best effort the shipyard explodes in a gout of flame, shocking everyone in the docks.
